Here Instead of Around is a research presentation of projects developed at the Advanced Master of Art and Design with a social-political context, Sint-Lukas Antwerpen. In this framework, Amit Leblang utilizes video, sound, and writing to explore how a political identity is shaped. Through filming daily encounters, recording conversations, and collecting sounds, the work examines the tension between personal history and collective myth. Documentary and staged moving images, layered sound recordings, autobiographical texts, and collages come together and negotiate across generations and narratives.
